Finalist in the 15th Annual IAMA (International Acoustic Music Awards for Best Country/Bluegrass song of 2019.

Chosen by a Blue Ribbon Judging Committee comprised of music industry professionals including A&R managers from record labels, publishers and producers. Entrants came from all over the world: Australia, Canada, Japan, Brazil, Germany, USA, South Africa, etc.

My reaction to being a finalist?

Completely honored and thrilled beyond belief. I am in such good company.The winner was Jonatha Brooke, one of my favorite indie artists and a previous winner was Meghan Trainor!

Nominated in the 15th Annual IMA (Independent Music Awards for Best Folk / Singer-Songwriter Album of 2016.

Judges included Amy Lee, Tom Waits, Dido, Warren Haynes, Ben Lee and more.

The Story

After my album 'Heroes & Heartaches" was released on August 4, 2016 I did a minimal amount of promotion for it. I submitted it to a few big competitions, even got some radio play, then I went back into my daily routine making a living, taking care of my then 10 mo. old daughter, hanging out with the family...

Then I received a general email saying that the nominees have been announced for the 15th IMAs. Since I didn't see the formal notice they sent to me, I didn't know that I was one of them until I clicked on the link (thinking to myself 'I believe I submitted to this, I'll just check it') not really thinking that my name would be there. But it was!

At first I thought 'oh, there's another Amber Snider' but since it had the name of my album next it it, that confirmed that it was indeed me! I could hardly sleep that night.

It is so surreal and such a great honor to be nominated for this award. It is a worldwide competition which means that in my category only 5 of us out of thousands made it to this point. Just being nominated is a HUGE deal. And there are some big name judges, too.

I was beyond excited. The album is good, we worked hard on it. So did a lot of people. It is still so unbelievable. The fact that the project is a dedication to my late God-father makes it even more of an honor. This is for him and he would be so proud right now.

Should've Known Better - Track

Winner of the July 2016 Akademia Music Awards for Best Song in the Folk / Singer-Songwriter category.

The track ‘Should've Known Better’ then hit the #1 position on the Power XR Folk / Singer-Songwriter charts during the month of May 2017.

'Amber Snider’s sophisticated vocal delivery is a good match for the angular diction of her guitar in this fiery but reserved folk country gem.'
